Cannabis, prohibited weapon found at home

A 46 year-old Deniliquin man has been charged with multiple offences following a search at a west Deniliquin home on Friday.

Police went to the Wood St home about 10.45am, and allege the male occupant tried to interfere with the search.

After being warned several times, police said he was eventually arrested for hindering the execution of a search warrant.

During the search police allege to have found an undisclosed amount of cannabis leaf, a ‘bong’, a Taser-like device and an undisclosed amount of cash.

As a result, the man was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, dealing with the proceeds of crime, possess equipment used in the administration of prohibited drugs and possession of a prohibited drug.

He was given conditional bail, and ordered to appear in Deniliquin Court this April.

Bike missing

Police are investigating after a bike was reported stolen from beside the Edward River at Deniliquin on Saturday.

The black and blue coloured, 2019 series Giant mountain bike was left on the bank while the owner went swimming.

It was noticed missing about 3pm. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 5881 9299 or CrimeStoppers on 1300 333 000.
