One win and one loss

The Deniliquin Bowling Club’s midweek pennant sides claimed one win and one loss on Friday, with Division 1 suffering a narrow 54-52 defeat at the hands of Rochester.

The rink of Toni Brooksby, Maxine Norton, Lindsay Franklin and Jo Bovell (skip) fell over the line in winning 17 shots to 16, and Jill Grimshaw's side also won 23 shots to 19.

The overall two shot deficit was realised however when the combination of Linda Harris (s), Ian McKenzie, Jenny Tonta and Tony Danckert went down by seven shots, 19-12.

It was a very different story in Division 3 with the rinks of Helen Anderson and Joy McArthur both recording comfortable victories of 26-17 and 27-12 respectively, thus ensuring the home side of an overall win against Echuca, 53 shots to 29.
